When, at the burning bush, God charges Moses with leading the revolution, Moses quails. “Who am I,” he asks, “to go to Pharaoh and bring out the children of Israel from Egypt?!”
God responds, “Because I’ll be with you.”
Notice that God didn’t answer the question.
But then, Moses didn’t really ask a question. He expressed fear, inadequacy, imposter syndrome. What makes you think that I, having never done anything big in my life, can do this?
“I’ll be with you.”
It was an answer to the deeper question for all of us: Will I be alone in this world?
Every Tuesday I offer a thought on the Torah portion of the week (in 100 words, of course). This week’s Torah portion is Shemot (Names), in the very beginning of the book of Exodus. Please share, comment, and join the conversation!

Are these weekly sessions recorded for later listening. Unable to attend Tuesdays at 12!!
